Job summary

Halton Healthcare currently seeks a registered nurse to provide care for chronic and acute hemodialysis patients in a dynamic hospital setting. The role includes patient teaching, preparing and initiating/discontinuing dialysis, and monitoring treatments with emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Preference will be given to those individuals possessing Cneph Certification
  • Must have experience with acute hemodialysis
  • Must be good with equipment, and possess basic computer skills
  • Strong patient assessment skills and patient education skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must enjoy working with chronic patients
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills
  • Must possess excellent documentation skills
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Responsibilities

Care of chronic and acute hemodialysis patients. Involves patient teaching. Hours: Mon - Sun, various rotating 7.5 hour shifts, 0700-1500, 1430-2230 (subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary: $36.08 to $39.02 per hour
