Job summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse to provide patient care, triage and nursing assessments for adult and paediatric patients across all triage priorities. You will work in a dynamic ED, handle stabilization, transport critical cases when needed and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current RN registration in Ontario, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a minimum of two years of ED nursing experience.

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• ACLS Certification required at time of hire and ongoing.
• Minimum of 2 years current Emergency nursing experience required.
• Triage trained-preferred.
• IV therapy skills required.
• Excellent teaching and public relations skills.
• Good team player.
• Self-directed.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Providing patient care, triage and nursing assessment in all areas of the Emergency Department, you will administer care to adult and paediatric patients from all triage priorities. It is essential you are competent in a diverse range of skills from stabilization and care of the critically ill to first aid. You may be required to transport critical patients including burn victims, neurological emergencies and trauma victims to other facilities.
