Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Educator for the Greystone Transitional Care Unit in Ontario. The role involves developing, delivering, coordinating, and evaluating education programs to support safe, high-quality clinical care.

You will work with Quality Leads, Clinical Managers, Area Directors, and external organizations to meet accreditation and regulatory standards. The Educator collaborates on annual education plans, provides mentorship and coaching, and supports staff development

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience as a Registered Nurse in home care and/or acute care settings.
  • Knowledge of CNO standards, RNAO best practices, and clinical documentation requirements.
  • Experience assessing patients and providing education, training, and mentorship to staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic clinical documentation systems.
  • Experience with learning management systems or other education-related technologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee annual education planning, including in-person boot camps, competency verification, education related to quality concerns, and ongoing professional development requirements for regulated and unregulated staff.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and educational sessions in person, virtually, and at various locations across Ontario.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate training schedules, while tracking and monitoring staff education, competencies, and training completion records.
  • Prepare and maintain educational resources and support materials related to new and existing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Learn and evaluate new applications, systems, and technologies to update training materials and provide education on newly implemented tools and processes.
  • Ensure education programs meet Bayshore, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, and align with national education practice standards and current evidence-informed practices.

This is an on-site position at the Greystone Transitional Care Unit. The role involves a rotating schedule that includes a mix of day and evening shifts, as well as occasional weekend shifts. No night shifts are required. Candidates should be comfortable working a variety of shifts as part of the regular schedule.
The Clinical Educator is responsible for the development, delivery, coordination, and evaluation of education programs that support the provision of safe, high-quality clinical care. Working collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders, the Clinical Educator provides education, competency validation, and professional development opportunities for regulated and unregulated staff while supporting compliance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
The Clinical Educator partners closely with internal stakeholders, including Quality Leads, Clinical Managers, Area Directors, Regional Directors, and the Sr. Manager Clinical Quality, as well as external organizations and professional associations.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee annual education planning, including in-person boot camps, competency verification, education related to quality concerns, and ongoing professional development requirements for regulated and unregulated staff.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and educational sessions in person, virtually, and at various locations across Ontario.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate training schedules, while tracking and monitoring staff education, competencies, and training completion records.
  • Prepare and maintain educational resources and support materials, including user guides, educator guides, and training materials related to new and existing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Learn and evaluate new applications, systems, and technologies to update training materials and provide education on newly implemented tools and processes.
  • Ensure education programs meet Bayshore, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, and align with national education practice standards and current evidence-informed practices.
  • Develop and deliver education programs grounded in adult learning principles, organizational learning theory, and Bayshore's philosophy and strategic direction.
  • Partner with the Director of Education and the Clinical Quality team to develop annual education plans and support ongoing compliance with Accreditation Canada standards.
  • Provide clinical consultation, coaching, mentorship, and operational support to staff and leaders as required to support safe patient care, staff development, quality initiatives, and program operations.
  • Analyze feedback from staff and stakeholders and provide recommendations to improve educational methodologies, program implementation, and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in project implementations, working groups, and committees by providing education and training expertise.
  • Adhere to Bayshore policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties and report any risks or concerns to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and share only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Complete other duties as requested.
Experience

  • Experience with learning management systems, eLearning platforms, or other education-related technologies is considered an asset.
  • Experience interpreting clinical data and translating findings into targeted education, training, and professional development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in formal or informal roles, including mentoring, coaching, facilitating education, leading projects, or supporting clinical practice improvement initiatives.
