Job summary

Sunnybrook is seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Colposcopy Unit to assist with procedures and provide Person Centred Care. The role supports patient flow, completes ordering, and leads daily clinic activities within the ambulatory care team.

Ideal candidates will adapt to fast-paced, stressful environments and may be asked to work in other OR-related areas, including cystoscopy, while upholding Sunnybrook's philosophy of service.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education recognized by Ontario MOE.
• RPN diploma with current CNO registration.
• Gynaecology experience preferred.
• Laser certificate an asset.
• Procedural/OR experience are assets.
• Surgical oncology nursing experience an asset.

Summary Of Duties

We are seeking an experienced RPN to work in the fast-paced environment of the Colposcopy Unit assisting with procedures and providing Person Centred Care. In addition, the individual will facilitate patient flow, complete ordering and demonstrate leadership in the daily activities of the clinic. The RPN will participate as a member of the ambulatory care team in a manner that reflects the Hospital’s philosophy and mission of service, and which promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
The RPN should have an ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment and may be requested to work in other procedure-related areas in the OR & Related Services, including cystoscopy.

Qualifications/Skills

• Grade 12 as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education
• Graduate of R.P.N. course with current registration with CNO
• Expertise in gynecology and the performance of gynecological operative techniques preferred.
• Completion of Laser certificate an asset.
• Recent experience in a procedural, (OR) Operating Room or surgical setting is an asset.
• Recent Surgical Oncology nursing experience and asset.
• Demonstrated technical competence.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in conflict management.
