Job summary

Rapids Family Health Team in Sarnia, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a casual call-in role. The RPN will work with an interdisciplinary team to support physicians, staff and patients, handling assessments, care and documentation.

Qualifications

Rapids Family Health Team is seeking an enthusiastic, professional Registered Practical Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other health care professionals to manage the needs of patients.

As part of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will provide medical assistance to physicians, staff and patients while using their superior organization skills to execute procedures that are considered delegated acts, promote patient education and perform general office and telephone duties. The RPN will have knowledge of and maintain complete, accurate, legible and timely patient records using the electronic medical records (EMR - Practice Solutions preferred).

Education and Qualifications:

· College Diploma – Registered Practical Nursing Program

· Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse

· Current First Aid and CPR certificates required

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

· Demonstrated competence with the full scope of practice of a Registered Practical Nurse in the provision of assessment, care, medications, interventions and documentation of care needs

· Demonstrated effective organizational, time management, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills both written and oral

Starting hourly rate is $24.92 per hour. This is a Union position, compensation is governed as per the Collective Agreement.
