Job summary

AgeCare Woodhaven in Markham, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will lead and support Personal Support Workers, liaise with physicians and the care team, and participate in shift reports to keep the unit well-informed.

A strong background in geriatric or long-term care nursing, knowledge of applicable laws, and valid College of Nurses of Ontario registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, OHSA, Pharmacy Act and related provincial acts.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and good standing.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the RN, implements AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaises with physicians and health care team members, including external partners.
• Directs Personal Support Workers on the care team and participates in shift reports.
