Job summary

Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Acute Medicine 7S. This temporary part-time 0.5 FTE role offers a dynamic frontline nursing position in a busy unit.

The successful candidate will hold a current CNO registration as an RPN, BCLS, and recent experience in acute medicine or geriatrics. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Rate of Pay: $37.15/hour -> $39.02/hour

Qualifications:

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.


• Current BCLS certification.


• Recent, within the last two (2) years related nursing experience in acute medicine and/or geriatrics


• Coronary Care Nursing 1 (or equivalent) preferred, OR must start Coronary Care Nursing 1 (or equivalent) within 1 year of start date.


• Demonstrated ability to utilize problem solving and critical thinking techniques


• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high turnover environment


• Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills


• Demonstrates critical thinking and decision making in assessment, problem identification, problem solving and management of adult and geriatric medicine patients, including rehabilitative approaches to patient care


• Evidence of commitment to professional practice and ongoing professional development, demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills


• Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in an effective, professional, caring manner


• Willingness to participate in Quality Improvement and innovation


• Demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality and performance.
