Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Niagara Region seeks a Registered Practical Nurse (Casual) to deliver compassionate nursing care to residents at Heatherwood Retirement Residence. You will assess health needs, administer medications, and support daily living with dignity and respect, in a team-focused environment that values resident stories and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates hold CNO RPN registration, BCLS, medication administration cert, and 1+ year geriatric experience; willingness to work casual shifts;

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
• Current Medication Administration Certificate.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare and/or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position.

What makes you a great fit?

• Strong knowledge of safe medication administration, with the ability to prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and the College of Nurses of Ontario standards
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to following up on all concerns and complaints forwarded by a Client, family or team members and informs/seeks assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate
• Promoting the Client’s self-care and self-sufficiency, emphasize adaptation and abilities, promote wellness and provide preventative health education, thus by treating the whole person
• Proven ability to complete assessments, RAPS, and individualized care plans accurately and within required timeframes
• Supporting the unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training and education
• Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration is an asset
• Performing other duties as assigned

What you need to know:
