Job summary

Aspira Quinte Gardens Retirement Living in Belleville, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary full‑time night shift (11pm–7am) to deliver high‑quality care to residents.

You will administer medications, monitor residents’ health, document care, and collaborate with the interprofessional team to support safety, comfort and dignity in daily living. This role emphasizes compassionate geriatrics care and professional growth within a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
• Current Medication Administration Certificate.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing or Healthcare as an RPN.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high‑quality nursing care that supports residents’ health, safety, and well‑being.
• Assess and manage residents’ health needs, including medication administration and care planning.
• Support and mentor unregulated care workers and collaborate with the care team to promote daily living and comfort.

Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday;

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday.

• Strong knowledge of safe medication administration, with the ability to prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and the College of Nurses of Ontario standards
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to following up on all concerns and complaints forwarded by a Client, family or team members and informs/seeks assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate
• Promoting the Client’s self‑care and self‑sufficiency, emphasize adaptation and abilities, promote wellness and provide preventative health education, thus by treating the whole person
• Proven ability to complete assessments, RAPS, and individualized care plans accurately and within required timeframes
• Supporting the unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training and education
• Post‑graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration is an asset
• Performing other duties as assigned

What You Need To Know

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare and/or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
