Job summary

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to run and maintain an infusion clinic, schedule patient appointments, and provide high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the broader team to ensure timely treatments and accurate documentation.

ACLS certification and a minimum of 3 years of RPN experience are valued. The role offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with a focus on patient education and compassionate

  • Qualified registered practical nurse (valid provincial license from the College of Nurses)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • ACLS certification
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook (e-mail), and MS Word
  • Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests
  • Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and clients
  • Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger remote team

Responsibilities

  • Administer and train medications (IV, IM and SC) in patients' homes or specialty clinics
  • Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments and report outcomes per protocols
  • Provide patient education based on program protocols
  • Maintain regular, predictable availability to meet appointment needs
  • Coordinate with patients, case managers, physicians and scheduling teams to meet timelines
  • Develop and sustain relations with key stakeholders including physicians and health professionals
  • Assist with transfer, coordination and dispensing of prescriptions
  • Participate in regular training sessions with leadership to share information and uphold standards
  • Consult with physicians and clients regarding education and implementation of product programs
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards and company policies
  • Perform related duties as required

About the Position:

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, ambitious Registered Practical Nurse to join our growing RX Connect Specialty Pharmacy Team. The Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for running and maintaining the infusion clinic, scheduling patient appointments, patient care. Responsible to work with a physician associated with the clinic, growing and maintaining relationships with physician. Candidate must be organized, reliable, excellent customer service skills and communication skills. Certifications in ACLS and PALS is considered an asset. previous experience working with PSPs, administering infusions/injections would be an asset.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer and train medications (IV, IM and SC) in the patient's home or specialty clinics setting(s)
  • Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols
  • Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups
  • Regular, predictable availability to meet appointment scheduling needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner to provide patients with quick access to necessary therapies
  • Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information
  • Develop and Sustain relations with key stakeholders, Clients, President, Physicians and other Health Care Professionals
  • Support and assist with the transfer, coordination and dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Participate regularly in telephone consultations and/or web-based meetings/training sessions with the President or reporting Manager to share information, and uphold professional practice standards
  • Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product specific programs
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by the professional associations and the company
  • Perform related duties and tasks as required
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Qualified registered practical nurse (valid provincial license from the College of Nurses)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Practical Nurse (preferred)
  • Experience in a critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting are considered assets
  • ACLS certification
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook (e-mail), and MS Word
  • Flexibility in order to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests
  • Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and our clients
  • Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger remote team
