Job summary

Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our Ottawa team on a full-time contract focused on Military Health Services. You will perform nursing assessments, interpret medical information, and coordinate with CFRC RMNA and other CFRCs to support the annual intake plan.

The ideal candidate holds an LPN license with at least 1 year of adult primary or ambulatory care experience, Standard First Aid and BLS, and is bilingual in English and French.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in adult primary or ambulatory care in the last 3 years.
• Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program and holds a current LPN license.
• Standard First Aid and BLS for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED Level C.
• N95 mask fit certificate (CSA Z94.4) within 2 years and WHMIS certification within 2 years.
• Bilingual in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and direct patient care in a military recruitment setting.
• Review medical questionnaires, lab results, and medical history for completeness.
• Conduct focused physical examinations when indicated and answer applicants' questions.
• Collaborate with CFRC nurses, RMNA, and Regional Reps to support intake goals.
• Maintain privacy and manage medical files within CAF Health Information System.

Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a full-time contract opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in Ottawa, ON! We're looking for dedicated professionals to make a meaningful impact in Military Health Services

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform duties in accordance with the Recruit Medical National Advisor (RMNA)/Recruit Medical Office (RMO) and daily operating procedures within the Canadian Forces Recruitment Centre (CFRC).
• Collect a detailed medical history based on positive answers on the medical questionnaire.
• Interpret medical information forms received from civilian HCPs, and review laboratory results for completeness.
• Complete focused physical examinations if clinically indicated.
• Respond professionally and competently to applicants’ questions related to the medical examination.
• Interact with other LPNs and Medics from other CFRCs to enable interoperability, collaborate with Regional Reps and RMNA.
• Be proficient with recruiting management systems and CAF Health Information System. Be well versed in personal health information and privacy act.
• Manage medical files efficiently to increase productivity and achieve the annual strategic intake plan to meet CAF’s recruitment objectives.
• Be knowledgeable about recruitment policies and directives, general medical standards and guidelines, policies on the management and storage of protected records, and be comfortable applying them.

QUALIFICATIONS

The LPN/RPN shall possess, as a minimum, one (1) full-time equivalent year of experiencewithin the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessments and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.

All LPN/RPNs must, as a minimum, have:

• Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses;
• Current and valid license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; and
• Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C.

Other Requirements:

• Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
• Must be bilingual in both English & French
