Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse to join Island Park Retirement Living in Campbellford. You will provide high-quality nursing care within policy and the resident care plan, and work to ensure residents receive compassionate support and daily life comfort.

You will report to the Director of Wellness, supervise PSWs, and regularly assess residents while coordinating with families to maintain dignity and safety in daily routines.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement and the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician orders, and resident care plans.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care following sound nursing practice principles.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and families, and guiding staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, status changes, and ongoing resident assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
