Job summary

Custom Health is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician (Validation) to join our Ontario Pharmacy team in Toronto. The role requires professional judgment and extensive technical training, with responsibilities validating medications and ensuring accuracy before delivery.

You will work with the Packaging Validation Team to verify all medications dispensed using PacVision, coordinate with delivery teams, and participate in ongoing training with technology partners.

Qualifications

  • RPhT registration with Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Packaging Validation Team to ensure timely packaging files are ready for delivery.
  • Verify all medications dispensed using PacVision for Multidose strips and conduct manual checks for unit dose and non-strip medications; ensure correct medication, dose, strength, format, time, patient, prescriber, and delivery notes.

Custom Health is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in our Ontario Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician (Validation) will perform functions related to the pharmacy. This role requires professional judgment and extensive technical training.

The ideal candidate should be able to answer pharmaceutical questions and display exceptional customer service skills. They must display compassion and understanding, attention to detail, and excellent administrative skills.

Responsibilities
  • Work with other members of the Packaging Validation Team to ensure optimal workflow of packaging files received from all sources are packed and ready for delivery in a timely manner
  • Work with other members of the Packaging Validation Team to verify** all medications dispensed, using PacVision for Multidose strips and manual checking for unit dose and non-strip medications **Verification includes right medication/dose/strength/format/time/patient/prescriber, and any other relevant parameters AND any delivery notes, original prescription files, and other information included with the item(s) you are checking, to ensure that they are delivered to the patient or agent at the right address/date/time, along with other items for the same patient if applicable, and with any auxiliary information that should be included
  • Custom Health Management, Data Entry, and Delivery Teams.
  • Communicate Effectively with all external clients including, Client Pharmacies Spencer Patients and LTC Clients where appropriate Participate in Ongoing Training from Technology Partners including McKesson, Spencer Health Solutions, and others as applicable.
  • Effectively use all communication means including telephone, text where applicable, company email, software communication platforms including Microsoft Teams, Adherenet, and others as applicable.
  • Participate in all applicable meetings in person or via Microsoft Teams or other applicable platforms, on a daily basis and as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
  • Monday- Friday.
  • 8-hour shift 8-5.
Requirements
  • RPhT registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Ability to adapt and evolve with the growing need and volume of the company without compromising accuracy and efficiency, and keeping in line with the standards of practice as required by Custom health and mandated by Ontario College of Pharmacy.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
