Registered Pharmacy Technician - 16 Month Contract

Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with daily workload management
• Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescriptions
• Label, fill, and refill prescriptions independently
• Perform double checks for repeat prescriptions and verify accuracy
• Identify therapeutic issues and consult Pharmacists as needed
• Manage billing, claims, and related documentation
• Assist patients with prescription pickups and inquiries
• Enter and correct prescription data in the computer system
• Screen calls and gather information for Pharmacists
• Maintain medication inventory and review invoices
• Pack and ship prescriptions and report adverse events according to standards
• Renew OCP registration annually and participate in quality assurance
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including standby/on-call responsibilities

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited college or successful completion of Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) Bridging Program with a Certificate of Registration
• At least two years of pharmacy experience
• Proficiency in Kroll and Microsoft Office applications
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset
