Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with daily workload management.
• Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescriptions.
• Label, fill, and refill prescriptions independently.
• Perform double checks for repeat prescriptions and verify accuracy.
• Identify potential therapeutic issues and consult Pharmacists.
• Manage pharmacy responsibilities with Innomar and ABSG Patient Programs.
• Process billing, claims, disbursements, and related documents.
• Assist patients at pickup, enter and correct prescription data in computer.
• Screen calls, gather information, and support Pharmacists.
• Order, maintain, and inventory medications; review invoices.
• Pack and ship prescriptions; maintain accurate inventory records.
• Report adverse events per regulatory standards.
• Renew OCP registration annually and participate in QA processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; may be on standby/on call.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited college; successful completion of Structured Practical Training or Ontario College of Pharmacists Bridging Program and registration with OCP.
• At least two years of pharmacy experience.
• Proficiency in Kroll and Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual in French/English is an asset.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and drug distribution.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask.
• Problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., if required.
