Job summary

CareRx Corporation is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Edmonton Pharmacy team, supporting LTC Homes and retirement communities with safe drug distribution and expanding expertise in geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications.

This on-site role emphasizes accuracy in compounding, compliance packaging, and final checks, with a collaborative culture, stable growth, and a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset.
  • Retail/Community/ Long Term Care Pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer or work processing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Staff Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic
  • Gather and ensure completeness of all necessary information
  • Confirm data entry accuracy in eMAR and Kroll
  • Confirm accuracy of pharmaceutical products and ensure final checks are completed for accuracy prior to their release
  • Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

CareRx is looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities in delivering safe and effective drug distribution services across multiple facilities. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in areas such as geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications. The successful candidate will also enhance their accuracy and efficiency in performing final checks related to compounding, compliance packaging, and other prescription fulfillment processes.

Compensation Range:

Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location:

This is on-site role at our Edmonton Pharmacy at 17969 106 Ave NW and follows a five-day work week with participation in on-call rotation for weekends.
