Location:

High Prairie station, near lakes and close to Peace River, Grande Prairie, and Edmonton. Perfect for living, working, and playing in northern Alberta. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, transport ill or injured patients.
  • Operate ambulances and other transport modes.
  • Administer minor medications, BLS airway adjuncts, and semi-automated defibrillation.
  • Lead BLS crew during patient care.
  • Ensure EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped.
  • Work in demanding environments with exposure to weather, traffic, hazardous scenes, and bodily fluids.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 105lbs and performing extended kneeling, bending, and awkward positions.
Qualifications:
  • Non-restricted registration as Emergency Medical Responder with Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Current BCLS-HCP certification.
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator Licence or equivalent, with a recent driver abstract.
  • Successful completion of F.A.R.E. test within the last 6 months if not already employed by AHS EMS.
Preferred:

Experience in metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility EMS, additional post-secondary education, and proof of credentials.
