Primary Care Alberta in Edmonton is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Teletriage within Health Link. You will provide high-quality nursing care by telephone, delivering evidence-based health advice and parent/guardian guidance to callers across Alberta, using clinical protocols and databases.

As an RN, you will assess, triage, counsel and educate patients, support an integrated care approach, and adapt to a busy call-center environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the CRNA.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If not practiced in the last five years, complete required CRNA modules.

The Health Link Team has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate, and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a change in how care delivered where you will be utilizing your robust communication skills, extensive nursing knowledge and diverse work background.An essential part of this provincial health team, you will be responsible for providing telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three (3-5 years) years recent experience as a registered nurse in a clinical setting, including experience in a variety of clinical areas that require high levels of independent and advanced assessment skills, strong critical thinking and excellent probing skills to extract pertinent information to support clinical decisions. They will also require recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues including emergency, pediatrics, maternal/child, medical/ surgical and critical care. They will also have the ability to successfully deal with stress in a high call volume contact center and in addition, they will be able to work comfortably with a variety of computer databases. A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM is a must. Intermediate computer skills are also a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience interacting with clients over the telephone is also preferred.
