Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Medicine Hat Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide a broad range of nursing services to patients, families and communities, using nursing processes and critical thinking to ensure safety and well-being.

This temporary part-time position at 0.60 FTE offers shifts on days and nights. Provisional permit holders earn $40.76 to $55.79/hour, with a pathway to the standard UNA nurse rate upon full registration.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 2 years of recent fulltime Acute care medical/surgical experience (within the past 4 years), or Emergency/Critical Care experience working at least 0.5FTE (must be within the past 4 years). Strong physical assessment skills. Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the inter-professional team. Maintenance of clinical competence and proficiency. Accountability for own professional practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

CTAS, ENPEP, ED Charge Nurse experience.
