Job summary

Humber College is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre to support primary health care and education for students. The RN works within an interdisciplinary team to promote wellness, assess health needs, and respond to crises across multiple campuses.

The role requires a BSc in Nursing and an active RN registration with the CNO, with 3+ years in relevant health fields and strong counselling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing; must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the CNO.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in community health, public health, emergency nursing, and/or mental health.
• Ability to work autonomously as part of an interprofessional/collaborative care team.
• Demonstrated health, education, and counselling skills.
• Leadership and organizational skills; WHMIS, PHIPA, CNO standards of practice knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform health assessments, preventative health care, and health education for Humber students.
• Provide emergency care of the sick or injured and interventions during crises.
• Support contractual health requirements for students prior to placements.
• Promote clinic services and participate in committees representing Health Services and Student Services.
