Position Details

The Sun Parlor Home for Senior Citizens in Leamington is recruiting Temporary Full Time Registered Nurses (RN) for all shifts. Reporting to the Nursing Leadership Team, the RN provides nursing care following the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards, legislation, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality care tailored to residents' needs
• Maintain residents' comfort, privacy, and dignity
• Interact warmly to promote a caring environment
• Assess resident conditions and interpret signs and symptoms
• Review laboratory results and determine need for further investigation or treatment changes
• Facilitate Inter-Disciplinary Team Conferences
• Use evidence-based protocols to promote health and prevent illness
• Address concerns from residents, families, or visitors and communicate with relevant departments
• Perform and supervise services like catheterization, tube feedings, suction, colostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and oversee restorative and palliative care programs
• Maintain electronic documentation on residents
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
• Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Minimum six months nursing experience in Long Term Care preferred
• Experience in gerontological nursing is an asset
• Experience with electronic patient records
• Availability to work at least 2 shifts weekly, including weekends and holidays
• Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance and TB screening
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Proof of immunization

Compensation

Hourly rate: $36.44 - $51.45, depending on experience
