Job summary

Northern Health in Bulkley Valley District Hospital is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse for perinatal care. You will plan and provide direct obstetrical patient care across intra-, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum periods, collaborating with an inter-professional team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Hours include rotating days and nights (07:00–19:00, 19:00–07:00). Active BC RN licensure required; BCCNM standards apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Experience in perinatal or obstetric care preferred.
• Strong patient-centered care approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide direct patient care to obstetrical patients during intra-, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum periods, as well as other assigned patients.
• Collaborate with inter-professional team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Rotate between day and night shifts: 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.
The Registered Nurse - Perinatal, working collaboratively with the inter-professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods and other assigned patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
