A leading healthcare provider in Ontario seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Outpatient Cancer Clinics. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with oncologists, and manage all aspects of care for cancer patients. This role requires clinical excellence, autonomy, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
The Registered Nurse (RN) role models clinical excellence and the core competencies of the practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), as well as the policies and procedures of Southlake Health. The RN works collaboratively as a member of the healthcare team and provides direct patient care based on the three-factor framework outlined in the CNO standard, RN and RPN Practice: The Client, Nurse, and the Environment. These factors influence decision-making related to care-provider assignment, consultation, and collaboration among care providers. All nurses are committed to lifelong learning.
The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed, and a key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. They will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting.
The RN in Outpatient Cancer Clinics and Systemic Therapy practices with a high level of autonomy and accountability, collaborating with oncologists and the inter-professional healthcare team. They provide a continuum of patient care, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, palliation, bereavement, and survivorship. The RN will plan, coordinate, and assess all aspects of care for cancer patients and their families, following standards set by the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) Standards of Care and Roles of Oncology.
