The Registered Nurse (RN) role models clinical excellence and the core competencies of the practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), as well as the policies and procedures of Southlake Regional Health Centre (Southlake). The RN works collaboratively as a member of the health care team.
The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed, and a key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting.
The Registered Nurse, Outpatient Cancer Clinics and Systemic Therapy Suite practices at a high level of autonomy and accountability in collaboration with oncologists and the inter-professional health care team to provide a continuum of patient care from prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, palliation, bereavement, and survivorship. The Registered Nurse, Outpatient Cancer Clinics & Systemic Therapy Suite will plan, coordinate, and assess all aspects of care of the cancer client and family, following the standards set out by the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) Standards of Care, Roles of Oncology.
