Job description

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), within a client and family-centered care model. The Clinic Nurse provides harm reduction services through a trauma-informed nursing care model to clients with physical or mental health needs and/or concurrent psychiatric and/or substance abuse/misuse disorders. Responsibilities include providing direct health care services to clients presenting with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses/diseases, including communicable diseases, substance dependency, mental health, and general health issues. The role involves performing physical, substance use, and psychiatric assessments, referring clients to physicians for further examination, administering prescribed treatments and medications, observing and documenting client progress, and providing education and support to clients and groups using a health promotion approach. The nurse works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, other healthcare professionals, clients, families, and the community, performing duties through a Trauma-Informed Care Framework and Indigenous Cultural lens.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30, 09:30 to 17:30

Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
  • Two years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care/services to clients with physical, psychiatric, and/or substance use disorders, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated CPR skills.
