Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Dawson Creek & District Hospital perioperative team. The OR/P.A.R. nurse delivers compassionate patient care across the perioperative continuum and provides guidance to nursing and non-nursing staff as needed.

The role requires RN registration in BC, current CPR Level C, and a perioperative certification or equivalent experience, with call duties and a Monday–Friday day shift schedule in Dawson Creek, BC.

Qualifications

  • RN registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BC CNMs) required.
  • Post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing or 1 year recent perioperative nursing experience preferred.
  • Current Level C CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care according to standards/policies.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document perioperative and immediate post-operative care.
  • Deliver care under the OR/PACU Unit Manager direction and supervise nursing/non-nursing staff as required.
  • Maintain effective communication and teaching for patients, families, and staff.

Job description

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital.

Under the general direction of the OR/PACU Unit Manager, the OR/P.A.R. nurse provides direct nursing care to the peri-operative patient according to established standards/policies and provides work direction to nursing and non-nursing staff as required. The OR/P.A.R. nurse assesses the physical and psychological needs; plans, implements, evaluating and documents the nursing care for the patient during the peri-operative process, and the immediate post-operative period. Call is required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days, 07:15 to 15:15 (rotating)

Qualfications
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Current Level C CPR certification required.
  • Post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing or a minimum of one-year recent related experience in peri-operative nursing.
