Job summary

Nurse Next Door is hiring for a caregiver role in Mississauga, providing in-home care under Happier Aging principles. You will perform nursing tasks such as medication administration, wound care, vitals, and assessments while supporting seniors to remain at home.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to care plans, and collaboration with Care Designers for personalized client support. A valid CNO license and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Nursing license (CNO) and current clinical practice credentials.
• Nursing experience is preferred and highly valued for senior home care tasks.
• English communication skills are essential for client care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform wound care, head-to-toe assessments, vitals, and pain evaluation.
• Support seniors to live at home with Happier Aging principles and compassionate care.
• Carry out care plans and liaise with physicians and care designers as needed.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Nursing tasks include – medication administration, wound care, head to toe assessment, vitals signs, pain assessment, liaising with physicians, diabetic management.


• Happier Aging is at the heart of what we do – enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible, doing what they love to do.


• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer


• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly


• Help clients with their ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.


• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.


• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description


• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly


• Service within the city of Missisauga

Requirements

• Previous nursing experience is an asset.


• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed


• Valid CNO license


• Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset


• Background or Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years for continued employment)


• Negative TB Screen (updated every 5 years for continued employment)


• Covid – 19 Vaccination Confirmation or medical exemption letter


• Valid driver’s license is required
