Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking an empathetic caregiver to support clients at home in the Richmond Hill/Vaughan area. This role involves meal preparation, companionship, and personal care aligned with each client's care plan.

We value caregivers with 1 year of experience, PSW/DSW/HCA certification, and the ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, and overnights.

Qualifications

• 1 year of caregiving experience or more.
• Experience handling clients with dementia is preferred.
• Must be able to speak and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship and personal care.
• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist clients with transfers, mobility and ADLs within scope of practice.
• Complete records and documentation accurately.

What We Offer:

• $19.00 – $22.00 per hour

• Flexible Schedules and Minimum visits for 3 hours.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care
• Happier Aging is at the heart if what we do – enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible, doing what they love to do.
• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer
• Help clients with their ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercise.
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
• Service the Richmond hill and Vaughan area
• Looking for flexible availability ( mornings, evenings and overnights) however must be available for at least 20 hrs per week which should include atleast 1 day weekend.

Requirements:

• 1 year previous caregiving experience
• Has handled clients with dementia
• Must have a valid certificate for PSW, DSW, HCA Or foreign trained nurse
• Must have a carto travel independently to clients home anywhere inVaughan and Richmond hill
• Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• Negative TB test (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19
• 2 Professional references
• CPR certification
• Must be able to speak and write in English.
• Have a valid SIN and eligibility to work in Canada.
