In accordance with the mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Coordinator is responsible for:

  1. Coordinating specialized mental health and substance use services
  2. Managing and assigning requests for consultation, prioritizing based on urgency and patient assessment
  3. Building capacity through supporting care planning and providing education to healthcare professionals
  4. Networking with community programs and supporting coordinated transitions to the community
  5. Supporting care coordination with community and emergency services partners

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 08:00 to 19:15 (Rotating)

About Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre: The hospital has 44 acute care beds, 124 residential beds, and handles approximately 22,000 ER visits annually. Facilities include:

  • Endoscopy suite, two operating rooms, and a procedure room
  • Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
  • Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
  • Three Intensive Care Units
  • Minor surgeries
  • Seven single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum

Fort St. John, known as “The Energetic City,” is a hub of resources including oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. Located above the Peace River Valley, it serves a population of over 21,400, with a service area of approximately 70,000. The community offers cultural facilities, schools, and a college campus.
