The Registered Nurse (RN) role models clinical excellence and adheres to the core competencies outlined in the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards, as well as the policies and procedures of Southlake Regional Health Centre. The RN collaborates as part of the healthcare team and provides direct patient care based on the three-factor framework: The Client, Nurse, and Environment, which influence decision-making, care-provider assignment, and collaboration needs. All nurses commit to lifelong learning.
The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed, and an integral part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team focused on quality patient care and patient flow. Responsibilities include providing excellent care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced setting across various inpatient units, such as Emergency, Medicine, Maternal Child, Surgery, Cardiac, Mental Health, Restorative Care, and other specialties based on skills, experience, and competencies. All successful candidates will receive a comprehensive orientation, typically lasting 12 weeks, with opportunities for new graduates through the Ministry’s Nursing Graduate Guarantee initiative.
