• Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends
• Salary Range: $43.26 - $59.21 per hour

About the Position

Alberta Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive mental health services for children and adolescents, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and outreach programs. As an RN in PES, you will assess and provide direct care for mental health patients in collaboration with Emergency and Psychiatry teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities
• Utilize nursing processes, including critical thinking and decision-making
• Educate, counsel, and advocate for patients and families
• Support holistic and integrated patient care

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program
• Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS-HCP)
• For those not practicing within 5 years: complete CRNA Medication Management and NextGenU Health Assessment courses

Additional Requirements

• Active or eligible practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA)
• Minimum 1 year experience in mental health, preferably in PES

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with children, adolescents, and families in acute care
• Experience in PES, MSE, and risk assessments
• Mental Health Certification (CMHPN), Brain Story Certification, Charge Nurse experience
