Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthetic Recovery (PAR) unit at Ksyen Regional Hospital in Terrace, BC. You will work with an interprofessional team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based post-anesthetic nursing care and coordinate recovery plans for patients.

The role requires strong clinical skills, IV therapy, and a patient-centered approach, with shift rotations including days and evenings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current BC College of Nurses and Midwives registration.
• Post-graduate coursework or certification in designated area with at least 1 year of related experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Post Anesthetic Recovery Unit after anesthesia.
• Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing care for recovering patients.
• Collaborate with interprofessional care team to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
• Maintain IV therapy and monitor patient status as part of routine recovery care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the care team to support understanding and advocacy.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet patient needs efficiently.
