• Provide nursing services related to communicable disease prevention and control, immunization, harm reduction, and basic wound care.
• Focus on prevention, education and health promotion, plus chronic disease management and referrals.
• Offer outreach as well as clinic services and coordinate with community-based services.

About The Job

The Registered Nurse:

• Provides nursing services related to communicable disease prevention and control (including HIV and blood borne pathogens), reproductive/sexual health, immunization, harm reduction, diagnosis and treatment of acute minor illnesses, including basic wound care and mental health/substance use support for high risk and vulnerable populations
• Strong focus on prevention, education and health promotion as well as assessment, chronic disease management, coordination, support, liaison and referral of health services
• Provides outreach services as well as clinic services in conjunction with other team members
• Coordinates services with those of other community-based services and agencies.

The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, strong communicator, advocate and able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary professional environment.

• Please note that travel is a requirement for this position and transportation arrangements must meet the Employer’s requirements. You are required to hold a valid BC Driver’s License and may be required to drive a personal car on mileage and /or be assigned a fleet vehicle as a condition of employment.

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.47) opportunity

Shifts of work will be scheduled days Mondays, Tuesdays and alternating Wednesdays from 08:48 to 16:30 hours
