Job summary

Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) invites applications for a Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse – Operating Room. The role supports perioperative patient care and ensures a safe OR environment. Location: WRHN @ Midtown & KW Campus, with day/evening/weekend shifts and dynamic team collaboration.

Eligibility includes current RN registration in Ontario, CPR, and relevant OR training. The team emphasizes collaboration and compassionate care within a busy, patient-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• 2 years’ OR experience preferred.
• Perioperative Certification preferred.
• Accredited Operating Room Course required.
• Familiar with Operating Room policies and physician protocols.
• CPR certification required.
• Able to meet physical demands of standing, lifting and on-call.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• To provide safe patient care and maintain a safe environment in the Operating Room.
• Contribute to perioperative care for patients across all ages.
• Collaborate with surgeons and health professionals to support timely care.
• Assist with workflow during day, evening and weekend shifts.

Hours of Work: Days, Evenings and Weekend

Location: WRHN @ Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital, KW Campus)

Position Summary : To incorporate the knowledge and skills necessary to function within the job description of Registered Nurse - Operating Room. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment to patients, staff and visitors.

Position Requirements:

• Current registration and in good standings with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 2 years’ of Operating Room experience preferred
• Perioperative Certification preferred
• Accredited Operating Room Course required
• Familiar with Operating Room Workload Measurement
• Familiar with standards, policies, procedures and physician protocols for the Operating Room
• Familiar with care of the perioperative patients of all ages
• CPR certification required
• Can meet physical demands of standing, lifting and being on call
• Ability to deal with physiologically/psychosocially stressed patients in an active, high turnover area
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills required to interact with patients, health professionals, other service providers and families essential Good attendance record required
