Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Ontario, Canada, seeks a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse for the OBS/Surgical Inpatient unit. The role requires current Nursing Certificate, BCLS, NRP or willingness to complete within six months, and ACoRN.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of Competence for College of Nurses.

• Certified to start IVs and give IV meds, including Central Venous Access Devices.
• Demonstrated well-developed assessment and nursing skills for antepartum, labour, delivery, post partum, and newborn care; one year FT experience preferred.
• Perinatal Certificates I & II (including Fetal Surveillance) preferred.
• Advocate for breastfeeding with interest in pursuing breastfeeding certification.
• Surgical experience an asset.
• Complex Continuing Care experience an asset.
• Good communication and patient teaching skills.
• Patient-focused and team-oriented.
• Satisfactory performance and attendance.
• Satisfactory reference checks prior to start date.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Pre-Employment Health Assessment required.

REGISTERED NURSE – OBS/SURGICAL INPATIENT

(TEMPORARY PART TIME)

One (1) temporary part time Registered Nurse position is available in the OBS/Surgical Inpatient unit at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current certificate of Competence for College of Nurses
• Current certificate in BCLS
• Certificate for neo-natal resuscitation (NRP) or willing to complete within six (6) months
• ACoRN required (or willing to obtain)
• PALS preferred
• Certified to start IV’s and give IV meds, including Central Venous Access Devices
• Demonstrated well-developed assessment and nursing skills for antepartum, labour, delivery, post partum, as well as assessment & care of the newborn. (One year full-time experience preferred)
• Perinatal Certificates I & II (including Fetal Surveillance) preferred
• Appropriate advocate with support skills for breastfeeding—interest in pursuing breast feeding certification
• Surgical experience an asset
• Complex Continuing Care experience an asset
• Good communication and patient teaching skills
• Patient focused and Team orientated
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

HOURS:

• Must be available for all three shifts, and weekends
• As per department schedule

SALARY:

• $41.15 - $58.98 per hour
