Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Grande Prairie is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for ICU/CCU to join an interdisciplinary team. The role supports care across ICU/CCU spaces including stepdown and inpatient hemodialysis with opportunities for education and progression from stepdown to ICU levels.

Provisional Permit holders are paid a dedicated hourly rate; upon full permit, pay adjusts to applicable UNA rates.

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
• At least 2 years of current acute care experience in a med/surg or emergency environment.

This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.The GPRH ICU/CCU Department has various care level spaces including ICU, CCU, Stepdown and inpatient hemodialysis. We also support outpatient cardioversions and TEEs. Successful candidates will be supported with education and progress from caring for stepdown level of care patients to ICU level of care patients.

Required Qualifications:

Current ICU/CCU nursing experience, completion of the OPPACA program (orientation program for adult critical care in Alberta), ACLS certification, Continuing Education in Critical care (i.e. ACCN or CNA certification), hemodialysis nursing experience.
