Job summary

Carecor is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Emergency care to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area hospitals. Working under the facility charge nurse, you will deliver patient-centered ED care during 12-hour shifts, with a casual schedule and days/evenings.

You will triage, assess, treat, and monitor acutely ill patients, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and uphold CNO standards and infection control.

Qualifications

  • Current RN registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required or preferred.
  • ENC(C) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' ER/ICU experience.
  • MMRV immunizations and recent TB test proof.

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage and comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and resuscitation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to plan care.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge.
  • Document assessments and outcomes in the EMR.
  • Advocate for patient safety and infection control.
  • Support patients and families during crises with professionalism.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and standards.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $75.00 to $78.00

Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) specialized in Emergency care to join our amazing team working in Greater Toronto Area hospitals. We’re ready when you are! Under the direction of the facility charge nurse, you will provide care according to the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Standards of Practice of Carecor and the healthcare facility where assigned - helping foster an environment of optimal physical, social, and emotional well-being for patients. For each assignment, you will be in one facility for a full 12hour shift. This is a Casual position with flexible shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, trauma, and medical emergencies. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the ED RN is responsible for rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of patients across all age groups.

The RN collaborates closely with physicians, paramedics, specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver timely, evidence-based care while ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize care in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient triage and comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, treatments, intravenous therapies, and emergency interventions.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and emergency resuscitation efforts.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Advocate for patient safety, quality care, and adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
  • Support patients and families during stressful and crisis situations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or preferred.
  • Emergency Nursing Certification (ENC(C)) preferred.
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (MMRV); proof of negative TB skin test within 1 year
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit
  • Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
