Job summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a qualified ICU/critical care nurse for temporary full-time shifts in Oakville. The role focuses on patient-centered care for complex medical, surgical and respiratory cases while performing advanced nursing skills and supervised delegated acts.

The ideal candidate holds operable registration in Ontario, BLS/ACLS, and a Critical Care Certificate, with CCU experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
  • BLS Provider Card, Heart & Stroke, upon hire.
  • ACLS certification required at time of hire and ongoing.
  • Critical Care Certificate required.
  • 1 year in the Critical Care setting is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret advanced arrhythmias and 12-lead ECG.
  • Proficiency with monitors, pumps, ECG machines, phlebotomy, invasive pressure monitoring and ventilators.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and assessment skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to work well under stress.
  • Ongoing professional development and self-directed learning.
  • Knowledge of PRISMA machine is an asset.
  • Must meet physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.

Job Description

Care of critical medical, surgical, and respiratory patients. Must perform numerous added nursing skills and appropriate delegated medical acts. May involve charge nurse duties on shift.

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Additional Information

Salary: $41.15 to $58.98 per hour
