Job description

Position: Registered Nurse

Salary Range: $58/hr (T4) or $68/hr (Incorporated)

We are seeking REGISTERED NURSES interested in contract work assignments across ONTARIO. Our clients operate multiple sites including long-term care homes and hospitals. We require RNs with specialty training in ER, ICU, med/surg, long-term care, NICU, and Obstetrics. Travel expenses and accommodation may be provided where applicable.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide holistic care to acutely ill patients with various medical conditions.
• Monitor hemodynamics for patients in ICU and ER.
• Recognize and intervene promptly for deteriorating clients.
• Assist with procedures such as intubation, central and arterial line insertions.
• Document assessments and findings in the electronic medical record.
• Support team members in patient care as needed.
• Perform routine tasks including vital signs, IV insertions, blood draws, EKGs, and injections.
• Conduct head-to-toe assessments and report abnormalities.
• Manage wound treatments and administer medications per standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and maintain updated client information.
• Utilize electronic charting systems.
• Engage in therapeutic communication to comfort and inform clients.
• Uphold organizational values at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years of experience within the Canadian healthcare system.
• Valid RN license with the College of Nurses of Ontario (or eligibility to obtain).
• Recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors.
• CPR (Level C) or BLS within the last year.
• ACLS (for ER/ICU nurses), PALS, TNCC, CTAS (for ER nurses), NRP, Fetal Health Surveillance (for obstetrics/NICU nurses).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Positive attitude and adaptability.
• Ability to communicate client condition changes effectively.
• Proper body mechanics for patient transfers.
• Adherence to infection control protocols.
• Willingness to work all shifts.
• Assets include certifications in P.I.E.C.E.S or GPA, experience with RAI-MDS, SWAN, V.A.C. therapy, NVCI, and electronic charting.
