Job summary

Powell River Educational Services Society in Powell River is seeking a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide direct nursing care within the qathet Complex Care Housing program. You will assess health needs, deliver trauma-informed interventions, support harm reduction and relapse prevention, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

The role reports to the Community Health Services Manager, is on-site, full-time, and requires current registration, BC driver's license,

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Minimum two years of recent experience treating mental health/substance use.
• Experience with trauma-informed and harm-reduction practices.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and professional support to participants in qathet Complex Care Housing.
• Assess health needs, deliver trauma-informed interventions, and support harm reduction and relapse prevention.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community partners to improve housing and health outcomes.
• Report to the Community Health Services Manager; on-site, full-time role.

Salary Or Wage: $41.42 – $59.52 per hour with an additional hourly premium

List of Requirements

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Minimum two (2) years of recent experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health and/or substance use concerns.
• Experience with trauma-informed and harm reduction practices.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.
