Job summary

The University Health Network in Toronto Western Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary full-time position in the 9B Combined Surgical Unit. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Your responsibilities include applying nursing theory to patient care, adhering to professional standards and Ontario regulations, pursuing continuing education, and collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
• Flexible and able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision making skills.
• BScN degree preferred.

• Wage Range: $41.15 - 58.98 per hour (Start rate is non-negotiable)
• Hours: 37.5 per week
• Shifts: Days 07:15-19:15 / Nights 19:15-07:15 / Weekends/Holidays 12 hour shifts
• Status: Temporary Full-time (Up to June 2027)
• Closing Date: July 23rd, 2026

Position Summary

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties

• Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN.
• Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure.
• Demonstrating commitment to professional lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.
• Performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
• Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested.

Qualifications
