Job summary

The New Brunswick Extra‑Mural Program (EMP), often called the hospital without walls, seeks a part-time temporary nurse in Sussex. You will coordinate patient care, draw on nursing knowledge and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality primary care in patients’ homes and communities.

Applicants must hold a Nursing diploma or degree, be registered or eligible with CNNB, and have recent specialized nursing experience. A valid NB driver’s license and CPR Level C are pluses.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Currently registered and in good standing, or eligible for registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB).
• Two (2) years of specialized registered nursing experience in the last five (5) years preferred in family practice, surgical, palliative care or oncology.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

JOB SUMMARY

To holistically coordinate the care of each patient, incorporating the nursing profession's values of knowledge, theory and practice. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of patients and significant others in the delivery of care and collaborate with all members of the interdisciplinary team in this approach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing;
• Currently registered and in good standing, or eligible for registration, with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB);
• A minimum of two (2) years in the last five (5) years of specialized registered nursing experience with preference in the areas of family practice, surgical, palliative care or oncology in a patient unit that requires daily collaboration with various health disciplines and family members as part of reaching patient goals;
• A good driving record with a valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License;
• Have a current CPR Level C certification or be prepared to obtain within 3 months;
• Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess leadership and coaching skills, strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision making skills;
• Able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record;
• A high regard for confidentiality; and
• Submit a valid and clean criminal record check.
