Job summary

Headwaters Health Care Centre in Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Diabetes Education Department on a casual basis. The role involves providing general and specialized nursing care in alignment with Nursing Practice standards and care protocols.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), and possesses CPR certification with at least 3 years of diabetes care experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Certified Diabetes Educator Certification (CDE) required.
• CPR certification required.
• Recent 3-year experience in diabetes care required.
• Knowledge of Adult Educational Principles.
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing Techniques (preferred).
• Knowledge of Gentle Persuasive Approach (preferred).
• Appropriate lifting techniques.
• Health assessment (may be required).
• Acceptable performance and attendance records.

Responsibilities

• The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within the Diabetes Education Department.
• The Registered Nurse is accountable and responsible for the provision of general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
