Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to support a compassionate care team in our Calgary-area facility. You will coordinate nursing services, lead shift reports, and ensure accurate documentation of residents' conditions in alignment with AgeCare policies and provincial standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and active license to practice.
  • Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing and services for residents within the neighbourhood and across residence.
  • Lead shift report and inform team of changes in residents' status.
  • Document significant changes in residents' condition in charts per policy.
  • Review physician orders and ensure timely execution; escalate issues as needed.
  • Promote resident safety and a culture of quality and respect.

The OpportunityThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to the Director of Care collaborating on the delivery of resident care to meet individual needs within his/her level of competency. They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents.The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes teamwork and a culture that supports AgeCare Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of Respect, Teamwork, Quality and encourages practices that respect resident, family and staff rights, individuality, and diversity. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.What You Will DoCoordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
