AgeCare South Terrace in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a casual, part-time team. You will provide safe, ethical nursing care and collaborate with the Director of Care to meet resident needs within your scope of practice.

As part of a diverse, respectful team, you will support resident safety, document changes, and coordinate with physicians and care colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in a welcoming home-like environment.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations and related provincial acts and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services in the residence.
• Leads shift report with the health care team to inform on resident status changes.
• Records significant changes in residents’ condition and ensures chart documentation meets AgeCare policies.
• Reviews and processes physician orders and communicates issues to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.

They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents. The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.**What You Will Do*** Coordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.* Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.* Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.* Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
