Job summary

Job description

Acclaim Health announces the availability of (1) Regular Part Time Registered Nurse position to work in the Halton Region in all clinics with a focus on the Burlington Clinic. As a Regular Part Time employee, this position requires the individual to be available to work 2 shifts a week, as well as 1:3 weekends in addition to the statutory holiday rotation. There is also mandatory on-call rotation.

$35.90 - $39.29 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Provide nursing care to individuals in a clinic setting.
• Organizes the day, set priorities based on continuity of care, the type of care to be given and the client’s health needs.
• Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care outlining the strategies, orders and actions to achieve expected/desired outcomes.
• Assesses the health status of the client.
• Administers IV therapy including central line and peripheral line maintenance.
• Administers medications topically through natural body orifices, through tubes and by injections.
• Handles wound care, acute and chronic, for certain types and stages of wounds.
• Responsible for ensuring that the lap top is synchronized with the network at a minimum of twice a day, at the beginning and end of your shift, in order to receive information on and update client records.
• Attends team/POD meetings as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 1 to 2 years clinical practice in a community environment preferred
• Current registration with the CNO
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Wound care (complex and non-complex), Negative pressure wound treatment skill, IV and pump skill, CVAD skill. Catheter care and maintenance skills preferred.
