Job summary

Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Birthing Suites to cover antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care. This temporary, part-time role requires an Ontario RN license, BCLS, and obstetrical nursing competencies.

You’ll join an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to OHRC and hospital policies. Eligible for benefits per ONA agreement and hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Current B.C.L.S Certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation and Fetal Health Surveillance preferred.
  • Obstetrical Nursing Certificate or recent equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with breast-feeding support.
  • Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience.
  • Experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Critical thinking ability.
  • Proven satisfactory attendance record.
  • Knowledge of the MoreOB platform an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate NHH’s corporate values within clinical practice is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to the CNO Practice Standards & Guidelines required.
  • Knowledge of EPIC Clinical Information System, e-health Ontario and BORN an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, patient-centered care to antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including midwives and physicians to coordinate care.

LOCATION

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH is a vibrant community hospital delivering a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Role Overview

The successful incumbent will meet the requirements of the position description for Registered Nurse and become part of an interdisciplinary team providing high quality, patient-centered care to patients and families in the antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum phases of care.

Employment Requirements

Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.

Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
