  • Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other residence services.
  • Leads shift report with health care team and informs changes in resident status.
  • Records changes in residents’ condition and ensures chart documentation follows policies and standards.
  • Reviews physician orders, ensures timely implementation, and communicates difficulties to leadership.

They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents. The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury. **What You Will Do*** Coordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.* Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.* Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.* Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
