Job summary

AgeCare West Williams in Kitchener, ON is seeking a Registered Nurse to support resident care under the Director of Care. The RN coordinates nursing services, leads shift reports, and ensures timely documentation in line with AgeCare policies and provincial standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, is registered in good standing, and has knowledge of long-term care regulations, contributing to a culture of respect, teamwork, and resident safety.

Qualifications

  • Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing knowledge.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with provincial registry.
  • Knowledge of Canadian health acts and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing and other services for residents.
  • Lead shift report with health care team.
  • Document changes in residents' condition in residents' charts.
  • Process physician orders per procedure and escalate issues as needed.

They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents.The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes teamwork and a culture that supports AgeCare Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of Respect, Teamwork, Quality and encourages practices that respect resident, family and staff rights, individuality, and diversity. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.What You Will DoCoordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
