Job summary

AgeCare in Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse to collaborate with the Director of Care in delivering high-quality resident care. You'll coordinate nursing services, participate in shift reports, and ensure accurate documentation in resident charts following policy and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, have geriatric/long-term care experience, and demonstrate leadership and teamwork in a diverse, respectful environment that values resident

  • Knowledge of geriatric and long-term care standards.
  • Experience with activation, nursing administration and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood.
  • Lead shift report with the health care team and inform of status changes.
  • Review and process physician orders and ensure timely implementation.
  • Communicate difficulties in processing orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.

They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents.The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes teamwork and a culture that supports AgeCare Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of Respect, Teamwork, Quality and encourages practices that respect resident, family and staff rights, individuality, and diversity. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.What You Will DoCoordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
